How to Access netZeye system thru Linksys Router?
In this chapter, we are doing the IP forwarding.
First, you need to know your Local IP address first. If you don't know everything, we suggest read How to find Local IP and What is WAN IP first.

IP forwarding:  Don't try to think too hard.  Just picture in your mind,  (IP address = your telephone number)
You use phone to call from outside to your office.  Your office telephone system will pickup and Redirect the phone call to your extension telephone.
That is call forwarding. Ip forwarding is using the same theory to redirect Internet connection.
What we need to do is, we need to setup your Router to do automatic redirection.  So, prepair to work now....


Router Setting
1 Open Internet Explorer

Type Address:

192.168.1.1

Security Login will Popup

No username

type Admin
in the password field.
(if you changed, please type yours)

Click OK

Setup Main Page.

If you need to setup your internet connection, setup here

 

Otherwise,
Go to Status on the top tab.

Notice: ) If your Linksys Router page looks different than this, your router must be the newer version.  Scroll down to the bottom of this page. You should find the newer version setting.

Write down your WAN IP address.
You need this information at the remote site.
(Red Mark section)

 

 

Go to top right corner with Orange Color Tab -- Call Advanced

Click it

Now, you are in the Advance section.

Go to the Filters page

Scroll down and find

Block WAN Request:
change it to Disable.

Click Apply button

Note:) this is just a recommend for easy setup purpose.  If you consider more strong security reason, you can choose Enable. but you need to know how to setup your firewall correctly. otherwise, you may get difficulty to connect.

Go to Forwarding Page

Type Port number as picture present.


NOTICE:)
192.168.1.101    it is my sample IP address.
You "must" change to your computer IP address. Don't follow the picture and just copy it.

You need to foward these Port

20001 to 20001

Remember scroll down to click Apply button to confirm changes.



Only add the port you want.  If you don't use, don't add it.
There is no need to add every port # in your port forwaring

 


Friendly Remind:) Open Port forwarding may have security hole issue.  TSM wont respond for every
security hole issue cause by virus or hacker attack.  Use Port forwarding with causion.

Congratulation, You just finish setting on the Linksys Router.

Now, we need to config your Multicam Webcam Server to pass thru the signal.

Open Multicam Program from the Desktop,


Or, you can go Start -> Programs -> Multicam -> Multicam xxxxx System

Go to Remote Button

Click it to Uncheck Webcam Server first.

Then, Click Remote button again.
Check Webcam Server to enable it.

If the dialog box popup. go to next step.

(Disable & Re-Enable Webcam Server to open Dialog box)

This is the Webcam Server Setup dialog.

Click Server Setup button.

Then, you are able to modify your Port number

Make sure your Port# is match in your Router Port forwarding page.

If you have more than 1 netZeye system, or other reason you want to change port number. Change in here.

If you have 2nd netZeye system, you might need to change your 2nd system port number to 81, 4551, 5551. etc...

Click Execute!

Now, all done. You can try it now.

Type your Webcam address in the address bar,

You should get your webcam page.
